John Winter & Co. has made five appointments to its workforce, as the business rolls out a major expansion programme.

Barry Grice has been appointed to work in the company’s Technical Sales team, covering Northern England and Scotland. Barry has worked in the iron and steel sectors for 27 years and replaces John Bateson who has retired from the business.

Russell Clamp, who has been working for John Winter for 18 years, has been promoted to quality manager, overseeing process improvement, research and development.

Commercial manager Samantha Ellis has been promoted to operations manager. Her new role will involve overseeing commercial aspects, production and logistics.

Rebecca Sutcliffe joins the business as assistant in the Transport Office to support the senior team in coordinating logistics.

The business has also hired a new member of its works team, Ben Copley. Ben will work as part of the production.

The changes are part of John Winter’s major expansion plans, after a doubling of exports and an overall 25 per cent increase in sales.

Adam Bennett, sales director at John Winter, said: “The changes will not only support our recent success, but help us move forward as a growing business. People are our biggest asset. We are dedicated to nurturing young talent whilst rewarding long-standing employees that are committed to what we do.”
