As it’s nearing the end of the year, we take a look back on 2017 and turn our focus to 2018.

A look back on 2017

In 2017 we launched a new product…

PF880 is an environmentally-friendly premium grade greensand release agent for medium and high-pressure moulding operations. It’s a low odour and low viscosity releasing agent, which has been designed for high production greensand moulding. The product has been formulated with a clean easy strip which results in an improved mould quality while also reducing uncast moulds.

Our research and development team has developed the product to have environmental and performance benefits for foundries, too.

In 2017 we entered into an exciting new partnership…

We were extremely proud to be named as the exclusive UK partner of Omega Foundry Machinery. The partnership launched a pivotal drive for the business as it expanded into new markets across the UK, with a product range including reclamation equipment, core shooters, mould handling equipment and coating plants.

In 2017 we won an award…

Our fantastic dental team (did you know that we are a foundry and dental business?) was shortlisted for the Product of the Year Award following the success of our artificial teeth product, Ref-Line. The artificial teeth give wearers 50 per cent improvement in tooth wear without any compromise to the elasticity of the product.

And, a member of our dental team was also crowned a winner at the Dental Laboratory Awards 2018 recently, with Sean scooping the DLA Sales Rep of the Year award! Well done, Sean!

And a look ahead to 2018

In 2018 we will continue with our environmental mission…

We recently announced some changes at John Winter as we embarked on our mission to become a more environmentally-friendly business – and we will be continuing with this mission into 2018. We’ve already upgraded our infrastructure, which will see a 33 tonne saving of CO2 emissions.

In the year ahead, we will build on this and contribute to improving the environmental effect of the  supply chain as a whole by improving our products’ sustainability.

In 2018 our focus is on research and development…

Product lifecycles are getting shorter so a dedicated team will continue to focus on research and development. We’ll be working to improve existing products and to create increasingly environmentally-friendly and sustainable products.

We have some exciting developments, including new product ranges, in the pipeline to ensure we are meeting the constantly evolving needs of the foundry industry. We’re expecting to see some significant changes within the industry next year, particularly in automotive, so our team is preparing for this.
