The role will play a pivotal part in supporting the business and management with all export and import coordination. The candidate will be highly organised, methodical, have knowledge of export/import documentation and experience of dealing with all relevant correspondence.

Export/import coordinators are responsible for arranging shipments, preparing and confirming orders and executing customer requirements accurately, efficiently and effectively.

 

The role includes the following key functions:

Management of orders through to conclusion, offering an organised, first class service to our customers by regular, effective communication with warehousing, production, purchasing, finance and sales to execute each order with accuracy using existing and new technology.

Customer service provision through a variety of communication methods accurately, professionally and with a clear vision of improving, maintaining and creating lasting relationships.

Identify regulatory and documentation requirements for individual countries and implement procedures to ensure compliance. Manage all necessary documentation for the efficient, cost-effective and lawful execution of all export/import activities.

Prepare and submit relevant administrative documentation in a timely and accurate manner, for example, quotations, invoices, shipping schedules, letters of credit, licenses, declarations, packing lists, transport and safety documentation and the effective filing of such.

Plan and manage the effective and necessary conversion of weights, sizes and other values.

Resolve any issues that arise during the export or import process, working closely with freight forwarders to ensure on time delivery. Monitor carrier performance and pursue all opportunities to improve, focusing on cost and profit implications.

Communicate and review processes with other departments in order to establish and maintain effective and relevant export/import procedures

Research and report on future changes in law or regulation to ensure planning and strategy are up to date.

Monitor, record and analyse activities and trends relating to import and export activities.

Continuous improvement of personal levels of skill, knowledge and education relating to international transportation, ICT, communication and team work.

Understand the role of UK logistics and be able to provide high level cover.

 

Person Specification

Experience in international transportation.

Proven organisational and problem solving ability.

High level of customer service experience.
