Geopol A A reclaimable inorganic sand binder with very low environmental impact cured with an ester, it has the ability to be reclaimed by regular attrition equipment.
SA Hardeners A range of hardeners used in conjunction with Geopol A, offering varying bench life and strip times.
Sodium Silicate Winterbond No 1 – this binder is mainly for the production of cores and has a mean ratio of 2.3:1.0, most beneficial where “breakdown” is of importance. Winterbond No 5 - Where “breakdown is not of paramount importance. Winterbond No 5 could be used for cores but this grade will be most useful for mould production. Ratio 1.96:1.0. Winterbond No 6 - For non-ferrous castings, this silicate with China clay addition will prove to be of value for mould & core production. Winterbond No 10 - A good general purpose blended silicate can be used for ester set work or CO2 hardening. Good breakdown after casting & good casting surface finish. Winterbond No 20 - This is a high quality blended silicate giving high strengths at low additions. Can be used for cores or moulds using CO2 or esters for hardening. Winterbond No 20 exhibits excellent breakdown after casting & the storage characteristics of moulds & cores are good. Winterbond No 30 - High quality blended silicate for use for CO2 hardening. As with W/B No 20 the following properties apply. Low additions with high strengths, excellent breakdown after casting & good storage of moulds & cores. Winterbond No 100S - A high ratio (2.5:1) silicate which can be hardened with either Winset esters or CO2 gas. Winterbond No 112 - Is a straight silicate for moulding & gassing with CO2. Winterbond No 0503 - A straight silicate for moulding. Hardening can be by CO2 or organic esters.
Winset Esters To compliment the silicate range, Winset Esters are available to allow a series of bench life times to be achieved (2 mins – 1.5 hours)
