Cover Fluxes

Ecoflux 146 (EXF 326)

A low fluoride white coloured exothermic flux for treating aluminium alloys, used for drossing off crucible and reverberatory furnaces. Fume levels are exceptionally low during use. Operating temperature range 690 - 780°C.

Cover 134 (EXF 327)

As above but operating temperature range 670 - 760°C.

Cover 302

A sodium free cleansing and drossing flux for use with AlMg alloys and other alloys intolerant of sodium.

Degassing

Ecogas 16

Used to degas most aluminium alloys with the exception of LM5 and LM10.
Hexachlorethane free, giving virtually fumeless operation and improving operator environment.

Modification of AlSi Alloys

Sodimod 28

Metallic sodium is available in vacuum sealed aluminium foil for modification of AlSi alloys. Currently available in 28 grm packets / 100 per tin.

HMC 15

A powdered flux for sodium modification to improve mechanical properties to also assist in the removal of oxides.

Stronal

Strontium modification using a Sr90Al10 alloy.
The high Strontium level reduces the melting point allowing more rapid dissolution rates, leading to shorter treatment times.

Grain Refiner 3

Based on the salts of Boron and Titanium, Hexachlorethane free and evolves exceptionally low volumes of fume.

Gas Addition

Aligas 40

Provides an economic guaranteed method of adding gas to molten aluminium, assisting in the production of “crack” free diecastings.

Diecasting Flux 17

A controlled introduction of gas into molten aluminium in order to eliminate cracking and shrinkage defects for gravity diecasting.

Injection Fluxes

HMC 37

A cleaning and degassing flux suitable for use with all aluminium alloys other than those that are intolerant of sodium, to be used in conjunction with a flux injection machine using nitrogen gas as the carrier.

Ecoflux 163

A sodium free low fluoride cleaning and degassing flux used in conjunction with a flux injection machine to remove dissolved hydrogen oxides and other non metallic inclusions. Suitable for use with AlMg alloys.

Injection Flux 168

A powdered flux to be used for the silicon modification to be used with a flux injection machine.
