Company History John Winter & Co Limited
The company was founded in the early 1960’s with its Head Office and manufacturing facility located on the original site in Washer Lane in Halifax, West Yorkshire. The core business was concerned with supplying foundries with their consumable and material requirements.
Over the last 30 years the site has been completely re-developed and now provides modern storage facilities and office accommodation. Employing 30 staff from this single centre site the company is strategically located and offers next day delivery coverage to all parts of the country.
In early 2000 the company established a network of agents and distribution channels to service the Asia Pacific and North American foundry markets and this has seen rapid growth as the decade has progressed. Today, this part of the business is well positioned as we continue to grow and develop our influence and reputation in these overseas markets.
In 2006 the company added pattern shop requisites to their range of specialist products targeting foundries and model makers as the customer base.
Although the company’s traditions are firmly centred on manufacturing, supplying consumables and providing technical solutions to the long established UK foundry business the company also has strong commercial interests in other areas.
Some 25 years ago the company commenced supplying plaster into the dental laboratory industry and over the years this has developed and the product range expanded. We now have a nationwide coverage in the supply of dental laboratory consumables and laboratory furniture.
The company also has a number of established distribution arrangements with national and multi-national companies covering the supply of dextrins, starches, resins and hardeners across a wide range of end users and industrial concerns.
As a show of the commitment to service and maintenance of quality levels the company formalised its existing quality system in 1991 and now operate the Lloyds Register Quality Assurance to meet ISO 9001:2008 throughout the company.
With this increasing portfolio of products and spread of involvement in providing technical solutions and ongoing support John Winter & Co Limited sees only an exciting and indeed rewarding future ahead.
